Move & play
Footwork games turn moving, stopping, and changing direction into a challenge. Children have an outlet for their energy while practicing balance and listening for the next instruction.
One hour of movement, games, and fencing challenges for ages 5–8 in Watertown. Children learn a new sport with other kids their age, enjoy the small wins, and practice trying again when something is tricky. Start with a free class and see if fencing clicks.
No experience needed. Equipment provided for your trial.
Our ages 5–8 group gives young beginners a place to learn together. Short explanations, repeated practice, and coaching keep the hour purposeful and approachable.

Hitting a target gives children an immediate goal. A coach shows them how to hold the épée and make a controlled touch, then gives them time to practice and enjoy getting it right.
With protective equipment, clear safety rules, and a coach supervising, children try short bouts together. They take turns, get to know their classmates, and learn that each touch is a chance to start again.
For the trial, look for a child willing to join in, try a new movement, or have another go. They don’t need to master anything on day one.
If your child enjoys the trial, we recommend two classes a week. Coming back regularly helps the movements become familiar and gives children time to settle into the group. One day is a useful starting point when that fits your week; three offers more practice.
Regular class packages:
Club gear is available for your trial and initial beginner training. Your coach will help you plan the move to your own equipment.
Annual club membership is $250, shared by a family and first billed in month three. Recurring packages require 30 days’ cancellation notice; payments are nonrefundable.

Hitting a target that felt difficult. Remembering the footwork without a reminder. Trying a bout with someone new. These are the moments that help children feel capable. Coaches give them a clear task, useful feedback, and another chance to try. We want them to leave proud of something they learned—and interested in coming back.
